Reba and Chase met online, and only texted for 3 months due to living 2.5 hours away from each other. When they finally met, they drove around, looked at Christmas lights and talked in person for the first time. They drove around for hours just enjoying each others company.
Reba says that their relationship is special because they have always made communication a priority between them. They focus on hearing and understand what the other has to say, and then working on what they have talked about. They know that supporting each other and being able to communicate about what is important to them will allow them to grow stronger and closer as a couple.
She knew that he was the one when within a month of them dating he supported her through the loss of her best friend. Chase was always there when she needed him, and never judged her for how she coped. He would hold her as she cried, but would give her space when she needed it. For him, there was never one distinct moment, he just knew.
The proposal happened on June 10th when they met with some of their friends and went to the terrace for some drinks. They also decided to walk up Bascom Hill and get some photos in front of the statue of Abe Lincoln (we did it again!). As they were getting ready a college tour group was coming up the hill. He dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry him! She started crying, and told him yes. At this point the tour group started cheering and clapping for them, and all they could do was to laugh in that moment of excitement.
For their wedding day, they want to keep everything simple and elegant. They are having a winter wedding, with red and black as our colors, white rose gold accents. They are mostly excited to be spending the day celebrating with those we love.
