As a documentary style photographer based in Madison, Wisconsin, I have had the pleasure of capturing many special moments and memories for my clients. This weekend I had to opportunity to document Yili proposing to Yiyi on the steps of the Wisconsin Capitol.
Yili had planned the proposal to perfection, choosing the iconic Capitol building as the backdrop for his special moment. As Yiyi arrived, Yili got down on one knee, and the emotions were palpable. I could see the love and anticipation in their eyes, and I made sure to capture every moment of it.
After the proposal, we took a leisurely walk around State Street. The snow that had started to fall added a touch of magic to the already beautiful scenery, and I was thrilled to be able to capture the couple in such a romantic setting.
As we strolled around, I documented Yili and Yiyi’s love for each other in the most natural way possible. I love capturing moments like these where the couple can just be themselves and enjoy each other’s company. Their chemistry and affection were undeniable, and it was an honor to be able to document their special day.
Our session ended at the glass stairs of the MMoCA, where I was able to capture some stunning shots of the couple against the modern and sleek architecture. The lighting was perfect, and the couple’s joy and happiness were evident in every shot.
As a documentary style photographer, my goal is always to capture real moments and emotions as they happen. I love to document the little details and the special moments that make each couple unique. Yili and Yiyi’s proposal was no exception, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of such a special moment in their lives.
In the end, the images from our session captured the love, excitement, and beauty of the day, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It is moments like these that make me grateful for my job and remind me of the power of photography to capture and preserve the most precious moments in our lives.
